Sarah Francis

Sarah is an artist based in Beirut, where she grew up and studied. Beginning in 2020, she developed her practice through painting and participation in collective exhibitions across gallery spaces.

Her work explores in-between times and spaces – questions of crossing, orientation, and landscape heterogeneity. Inner and geographical territories often intertwine, as her practice reflects on decentralization, positioning, beginnings, and transitions. Rather than a single point of origin, her work proposes multiple centers from which narratives can unfold.

Through speculative storytelling, residual elements drawn from collective and individual imagination reorganize into shifting constellations, narratives, and cosmogonies. Her rendering is often impressionistic, acknowledging the fragmented and transient ways in which we perceive and understand the world. Her practice spans painting, film, and sound.
