About Ali Chams

In his very own take on abstract expressionism, Ali Chams believes that color is to the visual arts what words are to language: the most basic structural component of our field of vision. As a man who has extensively studied not only the fine arts, but also philosophy and psychology, Chams’s art is intricately linked to his philosophical views. He believes the human artistic impulse to be a negation of death, a means for the artist to extend their existence to eternity. In oil color, Chams paints boldly expressive compositions – often on wood – ranging from evocative abstraction to expressionist landscapes, allowing us to gaze through the artist’s own subjective response to the perception and interpretation of color.
